Is Velune free?+

Yes. Velune is 100% free, ad-free and open-source under the GPL-3.0 license. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases or hidden fees.

Is Velune safe to install?+

Yes. Every release is built from the public source code on GitHub and signed by the developer. The APK is also distributed through IzzyOnDroid, which independently scans every build.

Do I need a YouTube account?+

No. You can stream and explore without signing in. Signing in is optional and only used to sync your YouTube Music library and likes.

Which Android versions are supported?+

Velune supports Android 7.0 (Nougat) and newer. Material You dynamic colors require Android 12+.

How do I install the APK?+

Download the APK from the Download page, open it on your phone, allow your browser to install unknown apps when prompted, then tap Install.

How do I update Velune?+

Velune checks for updates on launch. For automatic update notifications, install it via Obtainium or the IzzyOnDroid F-Droid repository.

Is Velune affiliated with YouTube or Google?+

No. Velune is an independent open-source client. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

Does Velune work offline?+

Yes. You can cache any song, album or playlist for offline playback. Cached files are stored encrypted on your device.
